Amazed

Chapter 10

Adrian sat by the fire, staring at the papers in his hands.

Everything made sense now.

The gala. The envelope. Locking Noah out in the rain.

It was never about punishing Adrian.

It was about silencing the true heir.

Vivian had been planning this for years.

She knew the moment Noah turned seven, the old legal clauses would activate.

Noah would inherit everything.

And Vivian would lose all control.

So she tried to force Adrian to sign away Noah’s birthright before anyone could find out.

Adrian folded the papers carefully and put them inside his coat.

He looked at Noah, who was already falling asleep, warm and safe by the fire.

Vivian thought she had leverage.

She thought she held all the cards.

But she had made one fatal mistake.

She had underestimated Adrian.

And she had forgotten about the letter.

Adrian stood up and walked to the window.

Rain was slowing down.

Dawn was painting the sky pale gray.

He could not hide here forever.

Vivian’s men would keep searching.

They would find this cabin eventually.

He had to take the fight to her.

He had to expose her lies.

And he had to do it before she could cover everything up.

Adrian sat down beside Noah and gently woke him.

Noah blinked sleepily.

“Daddy? Are we going home?”

Adrian brushed hair from his face.

“We are going back. But not to stay with Grandma. We are going to make sure she can never hurt us again.”

Noah frowned.

“Will you have to fight?”

Adrian hesitated.

“Yes. But not with fists. With the truth.”

He stood up and looked down at his son.

“Grandma thinks she can take everything away from us. But she forgot one thing.”

Noah tilted his head.

“What?”

Adrian smiled, a fierce, determined smile.

“She forgot that you are a Sterling too. And Sterlings do not run away. We stand our ground.”

He helped Noah stand up.

He took his hand.

“Are you brave enough to come with me?”

Noah squeezed his hand tight.

“Yes, Daddy. I’m brave.”

Adrian looked back one last time at the cabin.

Then he turned toward the path leading down the mountain.

Toward the estate.

Toward Vivian.

She expected him to run.

She expected him to beg.

She expected him to break.

Instead, he was coming back.

With the truth in his pocket.

And his son by his side.

The war had started.

And this time, Adrian was not fighting just to keep what was his.

May you like

He was fighting for Noah’s future.

And he would not lose.
